Its sad to say goodbye to Norma (Glenn Close) and Joe (Michael Xavier) after playing for five months at the Palace theater on Broadway. The musical had been extended from the original closing date of 28 May until Jun 25 with a total performances 138 and 7 previews.

After a successful run at English National Opera directed by Lonny Price in a basic sound stage look in London at the Coliseum last year, Sunset Boulevard made its return to Broadway to pull more than a million a week, thanks to the great star power of Glenn Close, who has made Norma’s return a major event on Broadway this 2017 season.

Sunset Boulevard is a musical with book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Based on the 1950 film of the same title, the plot revolves around Norma Desmond, a faded star of the silent screen era, living in the past in her decaying mansion on the fabled Los Angeles street. When young screenwriter Joe Gillis accidentally crosses her path, she sees in him an opportunity to make her comeback to the big screen.

Run: Feb 9 2017 – Jun 25 2017
