Once Upon a One More Time – Musical

Once Upon a One More Time is a jukebox musical based on songs popularized by Britney Spears. Set in a fantasy storybook realm, the plot follows numerous fairy-tale characters transformed by a feminist awakening. Following a 2021 try-out in Washington, D.C., the Broadway production opened at the Marquis Theatre on June 22, 2023. Work on a musical based around Britney Spears songs was initially announced in May 2017. A year later Britney attended the first reading of the musical. Theatre owner James L. Nederlander announced Once Upon a One More Time would be staged by Broadway in Chicago at the Nederlander Theatre in late fall 2019 prior to a New York City transfer.

Marquis Theatre seating plan

The Marquis Theatre is a Broadway theatre located at 1535 Broadway (at 45th St.) in midtown-Manhattan. Situated on the third floor of the Marriott Marquis Hotel, the 1611-seat venue was designed by developer/architect John C. Portman, Jr. Because construction of the hotel involved the demolition of five theaters – the original Helen Hayes, the Morosco, the Bijou, and remnants of the Astor and the Gaiety – New York City officials permitted Portman to construct the new property only if he agreed to include a theater within the structure. It presently is one of nine operated by the Nederlander Organization. The Marquis – with state-of-the-art backstage facilities and a sleekly modern auditorium – opened on July 9, 1986 with a series of concerts by Shirley Bassey.
