The Band Visit

The Band’s Visit is an original musical composed by David Yazbek with book by Itamar Moses. The musical is based on the 2007 film The Band’s Visit.
The original production of The Band’s Visit, directed by David Cromer and starring Tony Shalhoub, Katrina Lenk, John Cariani and Ari’el Stachel, premiered Off Broadway at the Linda Gross Theater in New York in November 2016 and will make its Broadway debut on October 7, 2017.
Synopsis
According to the musical’s official site, in The Band’s Visit, “an Egyptian Police Band arrives in Israel to play a concert. After a mix-up at the border, they are sent to a remote village in the middle of the desert. With no bus until morning and no hotel in sight, these unlikely travelers are taken in by the locals. Under the spell of the desert sky, their lives become intertwined in the most unexpected ways.” A new musical based on the critically acclaimed screenplay which received 36 major international awards.
