Darren Criss to Play Hedwig from April 29 2015

Darren Criss will return to Broadway to play the lead role in Hedwig and the Angry Inch. As John Cameron Mitchell leaves the role late April. Darren 12 week run will take him into the very busy summer season and should be a real winner for all the Hedwig Producers and fans alike.

Hedwig on Broadway, started with Neil Patrick Harris who won the Tony for Best Leading Actor In A Musical for his Hedwig performance, next Andrew Rannells nominated for the same tony in 2011 for The Book of Mormon. Michael C Hall from TV’s Dexter and his Broadway role as the MC in the revival of Cabaret and then the original Hedwig, John Cameron Mitchell, it’s going to be a big role to tackle.

But Darren is no stranger to Broadway, having take over the role of J. Pierrepont Finch in “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” back in early 2012 replacing Daniel Radcliff. Darren proved to be a big box-office draw for the production, lots of his fans also mobbed the stage door each performance just to see the “Glee” star.
