Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (musical) coming to the Savoy Theatre London Previews from 10 March 2014 with the official Opening night on 2 April 2014.
The musical premiered in San Diego, California on September 22, 2004, before moving to Broadway in January 2005 and officially opening in March at the Imperial Theatre and closed on Broadway after a total of 626 performances.The director was Jack O’Brien, choreographer was Jerry Mitchell, scenic design by David Rockwell, costume design by Gregg Carves, and lighting design was by Kenneth Posner. The cast included John Lithgow, Norbert Leo Butz, and Sherie Rene Scott, with Joanna Gleason and Gregory Jbara.
The musical opens at a lively Casino near the French Riviera . Inside the casino, con-artist Lawrence Jameson is tricking wealthy women out of their money with his “bodyguard” Andre . One such woman named Muriel and a few other women express their devotion and amorous feelings for Lawrence Andre warns Lawrence about a con-artist, known as “The Jackal”.

David Yazbek
(b 1961) is a writer, musician, composer, and lyricist. While attending Brown University as an undergraduate, he wrote an original musical with the production group Brownbrokers before graduating in 1982. He also directed a production of HAIR with student theatre group Production Workshop, for which he composed an original song to compliment the classic score. He wrote the music and lyrics for the Broadway musicals The Full Monty (2000), Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (2005) and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (2010).
Jerry Mitchell – Director
Jerry Mitchell is a theatre director and choreographer. Mitchell’s early Broadway credits were as a dancer in The Will Rogers Follies and revivals of Brigadoon and On Your Toes. Mitchell created and for many years directed the annual Broadway Bares benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. In addition to the theatre, he has choreographed for films such as Camp, In & Out and Drop Dead Gorgeous. He garnered an Emmy Award nomination for his work on The Drew Carey Show.He directed and choreographed Legally Blonde: The Musical, which opened in April 2007. He was involved in workshops for the stage musical version of the film Catch Me If You Can and Then In 2013, Mitchell directed and choreographed the Broadway musical Kindy boots He won the Tony Award for Best Choreography and was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical.

Robert Lindsay
(b 13 December 1949) is an English actor known for his stage and television work, including appearances with the Royal Shakespeare Company, and in musical theatre, and his roles as Wolfie Smith in Citizen Smith, Ian Frazier in Wimbledon and Ben Harper in My Family. In 1996 he played the title role of Becket, the play by Jean Anouilh, opposite Derek Jacobi as King Henry II for which he won another Olivier Award. Lindsay won his third Olivier award after he took over the role of Fagin during 1997 in Cameron Mackintosh’s London revival of Oliver! at the London Palladium. He has won a BAFTA, a Tony Award and three Olivier Awards for his work. Lindsay played the role of Bill Snibson in the hugely acclaimed 1984 London revival of Me and My Girl (for which Lindsay won an Olivier Award) which subsequently transferred to Broadway, earning him a Tony Award.
Rufus Hound
(b 6 March 1979) is an English comedian, actor and presenter. Hound hosted Destination Three, the coverage of the Glastonbury festival and Top of the Pops in 2005 and 2006 alongside Fearne Cotton. He presented the idiosyncratic reality show Grime Scene Investigation on BBC Three with staff and students from Aston University, and narrated BBC Two’s broadcasts of Mythbusters. He has also appeared in many comedy shows and quizzes such as Street Cred Sudoku and Celebrity Juice, where he was a regular panellist.Hound played the lead role of Francis Henshall in the National Theatre’s second touring production of One Man, Two Guvnors. Following the end of the tour, he took over the role in the West End production from 4 February 2013.
Katherine Kingsley
(b 1982) is an English actress, Katherine has performed in iconic venues such as the Donmar Warehouse and the Menier Chocolate Factory, as well as the Chichester Theatre and many other West End venues. She has received critical praise for her turn as Marlene Dietrich in the Donmar production of Piaf, which led to an Olivier nomination in 2009. Furthermore, Katherine’s portrayal of Lina Lamont in the 2012 Chichester Festival theatre production of Singing In The Rain, led to a second nomination for an Olivier Theatre Award. Katherine has also been involved in ‘The 39 Steps’ at the Criterion theatre. Katherine played the character of Helena, opposite David Walliams and Sheridan Smith in the Michael Grandage Company’s production of “A Midsummer’s Night Dream”, the classic Shakespearian comedy. Directed by Michael Grandage himself, the production will run from 7 September to 16 November 2013 at London’s Noël Coward Theatre.

Jeffrey Lane – Writer
Jeffrey Lane is an author, television scriptwriter, film producer and actor. He is a graduate of Wesleyan University.Lane wrote the book for the musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, which ran on Broadway in 2005 and was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Musical.He has written the book for the musical adaptation Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, which opened on Broadway in 2010. Jeffrey has also won Five Emmy Awards for TV and Three Writers Guild of America Awards and a Golden Globe.
Peter McKintosh – Set and Costume Desighner
is a British costume and set designer. He obtained a degree in Theatre Studies at the University of Warwick and then trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He has designed sets and costumes for numerous theatre, opera and dance productions, primarily for the London stage. He won the 2012 Olivier Award for Best Costume Design for Crazy for You. He was also nominated earlier for Hello Dolly!. His designs for The 39 Steps were nominated for the Tony Awards in the Best Set Design and Best Costume Design categories.
