Broadway Cares Flea Market

 

 

 

The biggest day of the year for Broadway fans at the 27th Annual Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction. For everybody to find one-of-a-kind showbiz treasures, meet many cast members and bid on exclusive backstage experiences. Free and open to the public and today thousands turned up for the festive outdoor market that takes place in the heart of the theatre district, along West 44th Street (between Broadway and Eighth Avenue) and in Shubert Alley.

 

 

There were more than 50 tables to search for that missing piece of everyone’s Broadway collection, including out-of-print cast recordings and lost Playbills from almost any show you can imagine and hundreds of windowcards from play and musicals. There were stacks of signed memorabilia, costume sketches, props and photographs, lots of treasures to be found in every price range.

 

 

 

 

Phantom of the Opera had heaps of props including the phantom letters, Prop food from the Don Giovanni Opera, costumes from the ballet, pieces of the chandelier….. also a big showing from Rock of Ages..

 

Among the shows to have tables this year are Annie, Avenue Q, The Book of Mormon, Cinderella, Kinky Boots, The Lion King, Mamma Mia!, Matilda The Musical, Motown: The Musical, Naked Boys Singing, NEWSical The Musical, Newsies, Once, Pippin, The Phantom of the Opera, Rock of Ages, The Trip to Bountiful and Wicked.

 

The Grand Auction, which includes a series of silent auctions throughout the day culminating in an exciting live auction, features dozens of fascinating lots, including walk-on appearances in Broadway’s biggest hits, lunches with Tony Award winners, VIP tickets to Broadway opening nights and musical phrases handwritten by Broadway’s best composers and lyricists.

Today’s Auction raised $226,000 Wow what a great day congrats to you and all your volunteers….
