Great News for Falsettos Fans
Falsettos is coming to PBS live from Lincoln Center and will be filmed on January 3 and January 4 evening, the January 4 matinee has been cancelled.
The production, directed by Lapine, stars Tony winner Christian Borle, Stephanie J. Block, Andrew Rannells, Brandon Uranowitz, Anthony Rosenthal, Tracie Thoms and Betsy Wolfe. The Lincoln Center Theater staging (produced in association with Jujamcyn’s Jordan Roth) is scheduled to play the final performance of its limited engagement at the Walter Kerr Theatre on January 8.
However you can still catch Falsettos Live at The Walter Kerr Theatre on Broadway Until the 8th January 2017.
Falsettos is a musical with a book by James Lapine and William Finn and music and lyrics by Finn. The musical consists of March of the Falsettos and Falsettoland, the last two in a trio of one-act Off-Broadway plays (the first was In Trousers). The story involves Marvin, his ex-wife Trina, his psychiatrist Mendel, his son Jason, and his gay lover Whizzer Brown. The musical premiered on Broadway in 1992. This production of FALSETTOS will mark a happy reunion for producer Andre Bishop, composer/lyricist William Finn, and playwright/director James Lapine.
