Neil Patrick Harris Replacement Named for Broadway’s Hedwig

 

Andrew Rannells, a Tony Award nominee for his performance as Elder Price in Broadway’s The Book of Mormon, will replace 2014 Tony winner Neil Patrick Harris in the award-winning revival of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, according Hedwig Official Website. Andrew Rannells has been contracted for only eight weeks, Bookings have been extended until October 12, 2014.

 

Andrew Scott Rannells is an American actor and singer best known for his work as Elder Price in the 2011 Broadway musical The Book of Mormon, which earned him a nomination for the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical. As a featured soloist on the musical’s Original Broadway Cast Recording, he won the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. His other Broadway credits include Jersey Boys and Hairspray.

Neil Patrick Harris was on contracted only until August 17th 2014, will not extend. Hedwig written by John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask, follows the titular transgender rock performer as she recounts her life during a concert.
