NEWSical the Musical, now in its 4th smash year, is 80 minutes of uproarious songs and sketches the parodies all today’s biggest headlines – from politics to pop culture from celebrities to social trends – everyone can have a good laugh at NEWSical the Musical! Think “Saturday Night Live” meets “Laugh-In” meets “The Nightly News” meets BROADWAY!. With NEWSical’s ever-changing format you never know who might pop in for a number or two! Cast

 

Wade Dooley (Performer) is currently writing the book to the new musical SUNSET CITY with award winning composer/writer Bobby Cronin. As a performer, some favorite credits include: THE RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR (Tour); THE LAST FIVE YEARS (Film); SCOTT ALAN’S MONDAY NIGHT NEW VOICES (NYC), Sparky in FORVER PLAID and Mikie in OVER THE PUB (Saint Michael’s Playhouse) just to name a few. Wade is a summa cum laude graduate of Bradley University with a B.S. degree in Business Administration. Rep’d by Eddie Rabon at Take 3 Talent Agency (NYC).

Kristen Mengelkoch (Swing) is pleased as punch to join NEWSical. Other NYC credits include several editions of Forbidden Broadway at the 47th Street Theatre and Hell’s Belles at The Midtown Theatre. Regional credits include: Geva Theatre Center, Gateway Playhouse, Moonlight Stage, North Coast Repertory Theatre, Miracle Theatre Productions, The Welk Theatre and Southern Colorado Repertory Theatre. Television: V eronica Mars (Co-Star). Kristen holds an MFA in Musical Theatre from San Diego State University and a BFA in Theatre from Emporia State University in her home state of Kansas.

Susan Mosher (Performer) Broadway: Hairspray. Off-Broadway: Suds, Back to Bacharach & David. TV: “Nurse Jackie”, “Without a Trace”, HBO’s “If These Walls Could Talk 2” with Vanessa Redgrave, “Beverly Hills 90210”, “V eronica’s Closet”, and a recurring role of Showtime’s “The L Word”. Films include: “A View From the Top”, “Lost Souls”, “It’s Pat”, “The Wedding Planner”, and “Bear City 2: the Proposal”. Susie is currently hosting the weekly show “BACKSTAGE” at the new theater hot-spot 54 Below.

Christine Pedi (Performer) On Broadway Christine recently played Mama Morton in Chicago, performed in Talk Radio with Liev Schrieber and Little Me with Martin Short. Off Broadway she was the lead in Miss Abigail’s Guide to Dating, Mating, and Marriage (performing between matinee and evening performances of NEWSical), performed in several A Train Plays and Project Shaws and received a Drama Desk nomination for her work in Forbidden Broadway. Fans of “The Sopranos” may recognize her as Mrs Bobby Baccala. (4 scenes, 5 lines … dead. BUT he loved her so much he couldn’t defrost her ziti!) Her multi award winning cabaret act Great Dames has played NYC, London, South Africa, Provincetown, and beyond. She’s a daily host of SiriusXM Radios ON BROADWAY channel 72

Dylan H. Thompson (Swing) is so thrilled to be joining to cast of NEWSical! Born and raised in Dallas, TX Dylan earned his BFA’s in Dramatic Writing and Acting at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Recent favorite credits include Fabrizio in Light in the Piazza (Carbonell Award Nominee: Best Actor), Off-Broadway’s Naked Boys Singing! and Bobby in Company. Dylan recently produced a staged reading of his original musical, Wasteland, with his collaborator Benny Gammerman.

Michael West (Performer) most recently appeared in Forbidden Broadway Goes to Rehab, at the 47th Street Theatre (original cast recording on DRG). Off-Broadway: Forbidden Broadway (five editions plus national, international tours, and symphonic concerts, 2500 performances); When Pigs Fly (directed by Mark Waldrop; original cast recording on RCA); Mr President, Whoop- Dee-Doo, much regional including Forbidden Vegas in Sin City. Named by his native Atlanta’s press “The Funniest Man in Atlanta” and by the Vegas press as a “Las Vegas at its best entertainer”. Michael’s acclaimed one-man show, Almost Live from the Betty Ford Clinic, is being updated and rewritten as we speak.
