Revival of Titanic
The original Titanic sank on its maiden voyage from England to New York. The musical Titanic almost didn’t make it out of the harbour but eventually went on to win a Tony Award in 1997. However after checking Internet Broadway Database, “Titanic” played at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for 26 Previews and 804 Performance’s which is a great run on Broadway, but with high running costs, it did sail off in March 1999.
A new production of the 1997 Tony-winning musical Titanic is coming back to Broadway late 2014 -2015 , after a pre-Broadway engagement that will play Toronto’s Royal Alexandra Theatre July 22 2014 – Aug 31 2014 Directed by Thom Southerland.

A revival of the show in London in 2013, directed by Thom Southerland (who will stage this remount), drew rave reviews, including from The Times, which called it gripping and ambitious.
