Revival of Titanic

 

The original Titanic sank on its maiden voyage from England to New York. The musical Titanic almost didn’t make it out of the harbour but eventually went on to win a Tony Award in 1997. However after checking Internet Broadway Database, “Titanic” played at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for 26 Previews and 804 Performance’s which is a great run on Broadway, but with high running costs, it did sail off in March 1999.

A new production of the 1997 Tony-winning musical Titanic is coming back to Broadway late 2014 -2015 , after a pre-Broadway engagement that will play Toronto’s Royal Alexandra Theatre July 22 2014 – Aug 31 2014 Directed by Thom Southerland.

The poster does have more of the movie feel to it, this time.

A revival of the show in London in 2013, directed by Thom Southerland (who will stage this remount), drew rave reviews, including from The Times, which called it gripping and ambitious.
