Everyone ages 12 and older must be vaccinated with an FDA or WHO authorized vaccine to attend a show. You may present proof of vaccination on paper or a smartphone. The following proof will be accepted:
- Two doses of an FDA or WHO authorized two dose COVID-19 vaccine.
- One dose of an FDA or WHO authorized single dose COVID-19 vaccine.
If your performance is less than 14 days after your last vaccine dose (excluding boosters), you must also provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test. See details below for accepted tests.

- A negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of the performance
- A negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test taken within 6 hours of the performance

ACCEPTED COVID-19 TESTS
Customers who require a negative test to enter the theatre must provide one of the following:
- A negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of the performance
- A negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test taken within 6 hours of the performance
You may present proof of a negative test on paper or a smartphone. At-home rapid tests will not be accepted.
PHOTO ID REQUIRED
Along with proof of vaccination, all guests 18 years or older must also present a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license or passport.
Guests under 18 may also use a school ID, with or without a photo. Other forms of ID may also be accepted, such as a copy of a birth certificate or other government-issued ID.
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult who meets the above requirements.
Guests who do not comply with these protocols will be denied entry or asked to leave the theatre.
New York City requires staff and customers 12 years of age and older to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to enter this establishment. Ethel Barrymore Theatre
The Ethel Barrymore Theatre is a Broadway theatre located at 243 West 47th Street in midtown-Manhattan, named for actress Ethel Barrymore. Designed by architect Herbert J. Krapp and constructed by the Shuberts, it opened on December 20, 1928 with The Kingdom of God, a play selected by leading lady Ethel Barrymore. Over the next dozen years she returned to star in The Love Duel (1929), Scarlett Sister Mary (1930), The School for Scandal (1931), and An International Incident (1940).It is the only surviving theatre of the many the Shuberts built for performers who were affiliated with them. It has been used continuously as a legitimate house, unlike many of the older theatres that have been used for a variety of purposes throughout the years.
