Skeleton Crew
A Gritty Industrial Drama by Dominique Morisseau
The Last Line of Defense
Skeleton Crew is a deeply moral and poignant play set in 2008 Detroit at the dawn of the Great Recession. In a small automotive stamping plant, the “skeleton crew” of workers navigates rumors of an impending foreclosure. The play explores the blurred lines between blue-collar and white-collar survival, as a makeshift family of workers must choose between personal loyalty and their own futures.
“I’m runnin’ on soul now, Reggie. Only thing still got fuel in it.” — Faye
The Detroit Project
This play serves as the final chapter in Morisseau’s acclaimed trilogy, following Detroit ’67 and Paradise Blue. It premiered Off-Broadway in 2016 before its celebrated Broadway debut at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre in 2022.
