The Land of Oz at the Gershwin

Since opening in 2003, Wicked has become one of the most successful musicals in history. Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, it tells the “untold” story of the unlikely friendship between Elphaba (the Wicked Witch) and Glinda (the Good Witch) long before Dorothy arrived in Oz. The production resides at the Gershwin Theatre, Broadway’s largest venue with 1,933 seats, providing the massive scale required for the show’s iconic “Defying Gravity” sequence and intricate mechanical sets.
